In this vital conversation with author Deesha Philyaw, Rev. Dr. Theresa Thames, Associate Dean of the Office of Religious Life, and Dr. Keri Day, Associate Professor of Constructive Theology and African American Religion at Princeton Theological Seminary, will explore the complex identities of Black women and the church and why the experiences of Black women are essential.

The Secret Lives of Church Ladies delves into the vulnerable and raw spaces where Black women and girls dare to follow their hearts and seek a brief escape from being good. In her book, Deesha Philyaw tells the stories of four generations of women trying to figure out who they want to be in the world. Women stuck between the church's double standards and their own wants and desires.
